LEGAL ENTITIES

A company or individual wishing to set up a business at RAK FTZ can register it as one of the following 3 legal entities: Free Zone Establishment (a new business entity with a sole business owner), Free Zone Company (a new business entity owned by 2 – 5 partners), Foreign Branch (branch of a foreign company) and Local Branch ( Bramch or a domestic company residing in the UAE )

CORPORATE BANK ACCOUNT

Our professional consultants will assist you to open your corporate bank account in Dubai. The account will be opened in one of the reputable banks in Dubai offering excellent online banking facilities. UAE is an independent country operating outside the European jurisdiction maintaining full confidentiality.

SHARE CAPITAL

For normal business activities there is no requirement for share capital. However for some business activities share capital of AED 50.000 to 100.000 will be required to be deposited in the company bank account before the issue of the license. Once the trade license is issued, the entire share capital can be withdrawn or used as working capital.

RESIDENCE VISA

For the issue of a residence visa the presence of the applicant in Dubai is necessary for 5-7 working days. During this time the medical checkup takes place along with the finger print session and visa stamping in the passport. A residence visa is valid for 3 years.

FLEXI DESK

RAK FTZ offers flexi office facilities that cater to the specific needs of small businesses. Different Flexi Desk and Flexi office facilities allow for different number of investor / employment visas.

LICENSING AND BUSINES ACTIVITIES

Each company operating within RAK FTZ must obtain a business license. Four types of licenses are available based on your business activities: Commercial – import, export, distribution or warehousing of goods (2 different activities or 7 similar activities), General Trading – import, export, distribution or warehousing of goods (different activities), Consultancy / Services – any type of management, marketing, academic, real estate, logistics or industrial consulting (2 different consulting activities) and Industrial – import of raw materials, manufacturing, processing, assembling, packaging and export of finished products (1 product line).

  • Application and Documents

    At this stage we will submit to the RAK FTZ Authorities your company Application together with Passport copies and Specimen Signature forms for each shareholder, director and manager. We will also assist you to complete and submit a Business Plan together with 3 alternative company names of your preference.

  • Company registration

    At this stage the company registration should be completed and you should visit us in Dubai to sign the Memorandum and Articles of Association (M&AA) in the presence of the RAK FTZ Authorities. Alternatively a power of attorney appointing a representative legalized by the UAE Embassy can be used to sign the M&AA.

  • Company licensing

    For normal business activities there is no requirement for share capital and therefore the license will be issued immediately after the registration stage. However for some business activities a bank account will be required to deposit the share capital before the issue of the License.

  • Completion of registration and licensing

    The time of completion of the registration and licensing will be between 1 to 2 weeks from the date we received all the necessary information and documentation.

  • Corporate Bank account

    After the completion of the registration and licensing you should visit us in Dubai and we will accompany you to the Bank to sign the Bank forms for the opening of the corporate account.
